As indicated by its name (Murfallet in Swedish), this is a collapsed part of the wall. It is not known exactly when and why it collapsed. Some believe that it happened because the wall here was not built stable enough. The collapse may also have been caused by a saddle tower (whose existence is not confirmed) that began to tilt and dragged the wall with it. Another theory blames the Lubecks - when they arrived with a fleet in 1525 they could have demolished the wall right here where it was not so well built.
On the sea side of the wall, a small hill allegedly contains the remains of the collapsed wall.
