Big Cristin (Stor Cristin in Swedish) is one of the larger towers in the Visby City Wall. Unfortunately, little is known about its history. It must have been erected at the beginning of the 14th century. The tower certainly had a great defensive capability due to its location, height and size. The name probably originates from the Middle Ages. On a map from the 1690s, the lot next to the tower is also called Stor Cristin.
