Tall Lisa (Långa Lisa in Swedish) is the highest tower of Visby City Wall. The tower retained its original name, which is unique. The name of course is linked to the height. Most of the towers have 5 storeys, this one has 6 and is 26 meters high. The tower stands on a slope with rising terrain to the east, and in order to detect potential attackers from the east in time, the tower needed to be extra high. It is also the widest of all the towers.

In the masonry between this tower and North Gate you can see part of a medieval stone house pre-dating the wall. During the Middle Ages the entire wall was plastered and probably whitewashed, so that assailants would not be able to see structural weaknesses such as this built-in house.

During an examination of the tower in 1901, a number of catapult stones were found in the niches on the upper floors. They were part of the tower's arsenal.
