The Beatles lunch with cannons

Sollidenbacken, 115 21 Stockholm, Sweden

The Beatles had lunch at Skansen restaurant Solliden on October 30th 1963 while recording a TV show at Gröna Lund Arena Theater during their first tour to Sweden. Rumour has it that John and Paul played an old piano that stood in the corner of the restaurant at the time. Swedish photographer Bo Trenter took a number of widely-used shots of The Beatles that day, including the one where John, Paul, George and Ringo are sitting on one of the 6 cannons outside the restaurant. This photo was later used on the Swedish version of the “All My Loving” EP.
