Dirty Dancing at Mountain Lake

115 Hotel Cir, Pembroke, VA 24136, USA

In “Dirty Dancing”(1987), Baby and Johnny's love story was set at the fictional Kellerman Resort in the Catskills of New York State. The film was shot largely at the idyllic Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, Virginia. The Lake Lure Inn's ballroom provided a backdrop for the famous lift scene. For other scenes, such as the Houseman family cabins, Kellerman's Hotel, beach games, and Penny crying in the kitchen, Mountain Lake served as a filming location.

Even now, more than 30 years later, the hotel preserves the memory and has a special offer for the fans: “Experience Kellerman’s mountain house: Step Into Johnny And Baby's Dancing Shoes At Mountain Lake Lodge.
