Arts Lab at The Three Tuns

157 High St, New Beckenham, Beckenham BR3 1AE, UK

Between 1969 and 1973, Bowie was a frequent visitor and performer at the Arts Lab held in The Three Tuns pub on Beckenham High Street.

The Arts Lab was originally called the Folk Club. Organised by David and Mary Finnigan, the Folk Club was in reality a room at the back of the Three Tuns public house. The Arts Lab took place every Sunday evening and after the fourth week, so many people attended that the club had to expand into the conservatory and the garden.
