Le Théâtre Antique d’Orange

3 Pl. des Frères Mounet, Orange, France

The ancient theater in Arausio is one of the best-preserved Roman theaters. Its four-tiered stage wall and amphitheater carved into a hill look magnificent. Since 1869, it has hosted the Roman Festivals. Renamed the Chorégies d'Orange in 1902, it has become an annual event. Sarah Bernhardt and Montserrat Caballé have graced its stage.
