The ABBA pavilion

Djurgården, Stockholm, Sweden

Before ABBA became ABBA there was "Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid”. All busy with their own projects and commitments at the time, they got together in 1972 to release a joint single “People need love”, mainly to promote the "Björn & Benny" duo. Agnetha and Anni-Frid were guest singing.

For the cover they used an older picture of the four of them in this very rain shelter on Djurgården. The photo was taken in 1970 for concert promotion, with Agnetha and Anni-Fred sitting inside the pavilion, and Björn and Benny standing behind them.

The reaction to the single was unexpected: "People Need Love" made it to the Top 20 of the combined Swedish singles and albums chart, reached No. 3 on the popular Swedish radio show Tio i topp (The Top Ten) and even entered the US top charts.

The song was later included into the ABBA’s first album “Ring Ring” released in 1973.
