The first Grand Hotel in Spain

Ctra. Taoro, 9, 38400 Puerto de la Cruz, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain

Opened in 1890, the splendid Hotel Taoro was the first grand hotel in Spain. It is also the oldest resort in Tenerife. This is where the island tourism has started. For more than 100 years, it was an iconic place visited by members of royal families such as the Duke of Windsor, Edward VIII; the King of Spain Alfonso XIII, the Dukes of Kent and King Albert I of Belgium, and world-famous writers such as Agatha Christie.

It is undergoing a major reconstruction now and will reopen its doors in 2022.
