Villa Villekulla - the Gotland version

Kneippbyn, Visby, Sweden

The original house from SVT's Pippi Longstocking films can be found on Gotland at Kneippbyns Sommarland amusement park. You can come there to see how Pippi lived, sneak up the stairs to Astrid Lindgren's writing room and if you dare - enter Pippi's ghost wind.

In 2001-2002, Villa Villekulla was completely renovated with the ambition to recreate and imitate the environment created in the classic Pippi films. There are many original details from the films, including an original sofa and the officers Kling and Klang's police car T-Ford at the house.

Films  "Pippi in the South Seas" (original Swedish title: "Pippi Långstrump på de sju haven") and "Pippi on the run" (“ På rymmen med Pippi Långstrump”) were filmed here at Kneippbyn. During the filming, only the exterior parts of the house were used, all indoor scenes were shot in film studios.
