Wall of Love (Mur des je t'aime)

Square Jehan Rictus, Place des Abbesses, 75018 Paris, France

This 40 sq.m.’ wall is covered by enamelled lava tiles on which the phrase “I love you” is featured in 311 different languages, including Esperanto and Braille.

The wall was created by calligraphist Frédéric Baron and mural artist Claire Kito in 2000.  They collected the phrase in notebooks by asking friends and family, knocking on the doors of embassies and foreign neighbours.
