Named after the former owner of these lands Don Hernando de Castro, this viewpoint high above the sea offers a spectacular view over the sea and palm groves. At the conclusion of the island's conquest, these fertile lands were granted to Don Hernando de Castro and his family in recognition of their assistance in the conquest. Here, Don Hernando established his estate initially dedicated to the cultivation of sugarcane and grapes. In the 1530s, in the face of the crisis in the sugar market, the vineyards had completely replaced the cane fields. Which, in their turn, were later replaced by banana plantations.

You can stop here for a coffee or beer at the restaurant right beside the viewpoint.
