Nobel’s blasting bunkers

Vinterviken, Stockholm, Sweden

Nobel’s factories in Vinterviken had not been accident-free, unfortunately. A number of tragic explosions happened in the end of 1860s and beginning of 1870s. Because of these accidents, it was later decided to separate the different parts of the dynamite production. Several blasting bunkers were built in the rock near the factory for safe dynamite testing.
