Stockholm’s oldest shipyard

Mälarvarvsbacken 10, 117 33 Stockholm, Sweden

The Mälar shipyard (Mälarvarvet) celebrated its 300th anniversary in 1985. Many Långholmen prisoners worked here back in the days. In the first half of the 19th century it was one of Stockholm's major shipyards (along with Tegelviken,  Stockholm's Warship and Djurgård’s shipyards).

Today, it is a service yard for maintenance, repairs and rebuilding of all types of vessels. There are two patent slips that can handle vessels of 500 and 100 tonnes respectively.
