This ordinary building on Manhattan’s Crosby Street would hardly draw your attention. However, great music history is hidden behind the grey metal door. The Magic Shop studio where Bowie secretly recorded his two last albums, “The Next Day” and “Blackstar”, was located here. Other big names associated with this studio include Lou Reed, Norah Jones, Suzanne Vega, Foo Fighters and the Ramones. Sadly, the studio closed down in 2016 after 28 years in business.
